Although not an officially recognized faction, the Beggars Collective has a palpable effect on the cities, spanning the divides between these geographic locations to represent the poor and oppressed of the world.
From the ashes of the grand Thieves' Guild rose a network of those who had nothing to lose. Instead of raucous calls to band together and subtle campaigns to draw in the best and brightest of those skilled in smuggling, banditry, and information brokering came the whispers in slime-covered alleys. Beneath forgotten sewer grates, around unseen corners and within the very heart of the those in the slums whose meager wealth couldn't even afford them a roof over their head formed a Collective. This association was dedicated to providing the peoples who lived day-to-day by trading information, providing aid to the most poverty-stricken and forging skills that help those amongst them thrive in the squalor. Forming a loose association of individuals instead of groups, each person representing themselves, this Collective acted to the benefit of the rest of the members by openly sharing information about the great cities and where goods flowed, including trade routes, food stall stocking and crop harvesting so that something could be taken off the top of each. Through this method, members of the Collective could gain an advantage over their less informed beggar brothers and sisters by rarely going a day without food or a few extra coppers to their name to save for another day.
Amongst the legends of this secretive group lie the tales of the oldest members being able to elevate their status in society and become something more than their past; whispers of these reformed copperless residents tell of those became well-off merchants, travellers, and even adventurers....
More info to come.
